Hi there! My name is Pooja and I am a User Experience Researcher with a background in Psychology and a passion for understanding how people think, feel, and interact with technology.
My foundation in research began with an academic focus on human behavior, mental health, and the evolving impact of technology on our lives. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I conducted research on topics like social media, self-esteem, and digital connection. That early experience studying how people relate to technology sparked my interest in user research. To build on that foundation, I’m currently completing the Google UX Design Certificate, expanding my skills in user research and design methods.
311SA app launch, 2018. I worked on this project at Irys Technologies, collaborating with the City of San Antonio to help launch a public service app and gain hands-on experience across the product lifecycle.
My career began in the tech startup world, where I gained hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle. Working on mobile apps and software products from development through launch gave me a practical, end-to-end understanding of what it takes to build successful digital tools and how critical it is to keep users at the center throughout.
World Usability Day, San Antonio (2024). Pictured with two UX research collaborators I work with on research and design projects focused on improving digital services.
Today, I use qualitative and quantitative methods like interviews, surveys, and usability testing to uncover insights that guide product decisions. I'm skilled at translating data into clear, actionable findings that help teams build more user-centered, inclusive experiences.
Playing music — one of the ways I stay creative and connected outside of UX research!
Outside of work, I play piano and guitar, sing, and enjoy writing and recording music. It’s another way I stay curious, creative, and connected to the world around me.
I'm always open to new projects, collaborations, or just chatting about UX and creative work. Feel free to reach out. I’d love to hear from you!
